FAQ's - School

  • To what grade does the school go?
    • We start with preschool and go all the way through 12th grade.  Between preschool and elementary, we have a unique Kindergarten Readiness program for students who miss the age cutoff for Kindergarten, but have already mastered all the skills taught in preschool.
  • What is the dress code?
    • Our dress code is covered in depth in the school handbook, but some new guidelines will be in place for the 2007-2008 school year:  There will be no cell phones in the classrooms (cell phones need to be kept in the student's backpack or personal effects).  No "heelies"  are to be worn during the school day for safety reasons.  And electronic devices (ipods, walkmans,  game systems, etc.) will be allowed only at the discretion of the teacher.
  • What does the school calendar look like?
    • The school year starts the first week of September and runs until the end of May.  For a complete listing of all vacation days and other important dates click here.
  • Is childcare available before and after school?
    • Yes.  Wee Learners Childcare is open from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  For rates and information on childcare click here.
  • What are school hours?
    • School starts at 8:30 a.m. and the day is finished at 3:15 p.m.  Students are not to be in the building any earlier than 8:20 and must be picked up by 3:30 unless involved in a sanctioned after-school activity or enrolled in before or after care.
  • Are hot lunches available?
    • Yes.  We have a hot lunch program.  Our lunches cost $3.50 a day.  Lunch menu can be viewed by clicking on the School Year Information link to your left.  Milk is also available to purchase.  Students are welcome, of course, to bring lunches from home.
  • What kind of curriculum is used?
    • We use materials from Bob Jones University Press, ABeka Publishing, ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International), and various other publishers.
