Discerning todays' events thru the Word of God
Prophecy In The News

An old-time song says, “Though April showers may come your way, they bring the flowers that bloom in May… so keep on looking for a blue bird and listening for his song whenever April showers come along.” I have seen daffodils with their cheery yellow blooms, vibrant colored tulips, several robins and, even, a few angle worms. The Sweet William I planted 2 years ago is growing lush and green (no buds yet!). But, I am anticipating the colorful purple and white flowers. I have not, however, seen a blue bird. Not yet! But I am going to keep on looking.
Watching all sorts of things coming out of the earth after a long winter’s sleep never ceases to amaze me. It is incredible!
Think about it. Wow! What an amazing Creator we have. He brings ‘dead’ things to life.
Spring always reminds me of the gospel in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 regarding the Rapture of the Church. Paul is answering some new believers who are questioning him regarding their Christian loved ones who had died since Paul had led them to Christ. Paul promised them that Christ would one day return for their loved ones and take them with Him to His Father’s house in heaven. He wanted them to know death was not a problem for God. And, Paul did not want these new Christians to be uninformed concerning the Rapture. This is what he told them:
“Brothers (sisters), we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words.”
Hmm. I wonder if it was Spring-time when Paul told them these things? I hope so. Kind of a show-and-tell lesson. They surely would understand if they saw what I see in the Spring - ‘dead’ things rising out of the ground in living colors! Not really dead, just asleep.
So keep on looking for that blue bird and listening for his song…
Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus!
Maranatha!
